About the Role:

  • Dakota Supply Group is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team in Plymouth, MN. This is a full-time, on-site, hourly position that offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in purchasing and/or inventory management, with a strong background in plumbing and a working knowledge of Epicor Eclipse.
  • This role involves managing inventory investment, reviewing and placing purchase orders, verifying pricing information, and analyzing reports to ensure optimal stock levels and cost savings.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent business acumen, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with secondary or post-secondary coursework concentrated in a related field or equivalent relevant on-the-job experience.

About the Job:

  • The Plumbing Purchasing Agent will be responsible for expediting communication on price changes to the Product File maintenance team, monitoring overdue purchase orders, and communicating with sales teams to close out.
  • The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to resolve price discrepancies with vendors and Accounts Payable.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to maintain current product catalogs, seek opportunities for growth in vertical and horizontal markets, and negotiate better costs with suppliers.
  • A typical day in this role may involve reviewing purchase orders, verifying pricing information, researching market pricing, and analyzing reports to ensure optimal stock levels and cost savings.
