Instructional Aide

The Alabama Department of Education is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Instructional Aide to join our team in Guntersville City Schools. As an Instructional Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students in the classroom, ensuring a well-organized and smoothly functioning learning environment.

• Assist teachers in providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students.
• Work with students to reinforce skills and concepts introduced by the teacher, promoting academic achievement and growth.
• Monitor student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness to inform instruction.
• Attend weekly planning sessions with classroom teachers to discuss student progress and develop strategies for support.
• Assist with completing activities, documenting progress, and providing feedback to students and teachers.
• Provide intervention for individual students, adapting instruction to meet their unique needs.
• Support small group instruction in the classroom, promoting collaborative learning and socialization.
• Assist in administering diagnostic and assessment tests, ensuring accurate and timely results.
• Attend scheduled workshops and training to stay up-to-date on best practices and new technologies.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or 48 semester hours of credit from a four-year accredited college or university preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and administrators.
• Ability to use computer skills required for record-keeping, data entry, and other administrative tasks.
• Physical and emotional ability to perform required work and move about as needed in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work an expected workday of eight hours or more, as needed.
