Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Children's FEP team at WellStone, a leading provider of behavioral healthcare services in North Alabama.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide direct nursing services to individuals served by the NOVA Team, including administering and monitoring medication, providing health assessments, and conducting individual or group wellness groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing services to individuals served by the NOVA Team, including administering and monitoring medication, providing health assessments, and conducting individual or group wellness groups.
  • Collaborate with the NOVA Team to formulate and coordinate psychiatric care for individuals served.
  • Monitor laboratory tests and medical procedures, and administer depot injections as needed.
  • Coordinate with medical providers and follow through with pharmacy orders.
  • Document activities and maintain electronic medical records according to agency standards.
Requirements:
  • Current Alabama Nursing license.
  • Two years experience working with people who have serious ongoing mental health problems, to include those with severe emotional disturbance and serious mental illness, preferred.
  • Familiarity with psychotropic and neuroleptic drugs, their uses, and potential side effects.
  • Valid Alabama drivers license.
