We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist PRN to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered medication management and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of medications dispensed by our pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, compound, and dispense medications with precision and attention to detail.
- Verify the accuracy and appropriateness of medication orders, ensuring correct medication, dose, route, and quantity.
- Document allergy and clinical information as required, and handle post-op and transfer orders in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
- Utilize nomograms and departmental guidelines to provide medication-related recommendations.
- Prevent and resolve drug-related problems through consultations with prescribers and documentation of interventions.
- Oversee the work of pharmacy students, interns, and technicians to ensure performance standards are maintained and work is accurate and precise.
- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Georgia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.
- One year of hospital experience preferred, or new graduate under contract through the Emory tuition program.
- Preferred: PGY1 residency with skill set to advance to Clinical Pharmacist II.
