Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Onshore Wind Engineering Jr. Technician. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assembling and testing electrical and mechanical support systems for our world-class 6MW+ onshore wind turbine product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembly and Testing: Perform assembly and testing of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic support systems.
  • Schematic Interpretation: Interpret and understand schematics with a fundamental understanding of circuit theory.
  • Electrical Test Equipment: Employ the use of electrical test equipment and instruments, including multimeters, ohm meters, and thermocouples.
  • Hand and Power Tools: Employ the use of hand and power tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, and drills.
  • Flow Characterization Equipment: Basic knowledge of flow characterization equipment, thermocouples, pressure transducers, and data acquisition systems.
  • Data Validation: Audit and validate data for quality and completeness.
  • HV Wire Connection: Direct and aid bargaining unit personnel in the running and connection of HV wires and associated hardware.
  • Equipment Controls: Utilize computer software to monitor, diagnose, and repair equipment controls as necessary.
  • Factory Acceptance Testing: Perform Factory Acceptance Testing with customer oversight for demonstration of unit functionality.
  • Quality Control Reports: Initiate Quality Control Reports for out of specification test results per quality plan.
  • Documentation: Accurately and completely document information required for the process being performed.
  • Technical Documentation: Execution of methods and unit-specific customer requirements as prescribed by design engineering, management, and technical documentation.
  • 3D Viewer Software: Ability to navigate 3D viewer software and interpret pertinent technical information to the scope of the role.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Education: Technical Associate Degree/Certificate Program or High School Diploma/GED and currently pursuing a degree in a technical program or relevant apprenticeship.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Manufacturing Experience: Manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Strong grasp of physics, mathematics, hydraulics, computer, and programming skills, six sigma methodologies, electrical and mechanical diagnostic techniques, safety, and environmental concerns.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility: Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as required.
Additional Information:
  • Work Schedule: Open to 1st or 2nd shift work hours (1st shift -7am-3pm or 2nd shift- 3pm -11pm).
