Position Overview:

The Custodial Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring a clean and healthy environment for clients by meticulously maintaining designated areas in a safe, sanitary, and organized manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts thorough cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold the sanitation and cleanliness of the facility, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and bathroom sanitation.
  • Utilizes various cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners to maintain facility rooms, offices, and common areas.
  • Handles the washing of bed frames and linens, ensuring rooms are prepared for new clients.
  • Maintains utility and storage areas in an orderly fashion.
  • Operates commercial laundry machines, managing the laundering of soiled linens as required.
  • Adheres to infection control protocols, transporting soiled items to designated areas and distributing cleaned articles.
  • Ensures floors are properly cleaned and polished, with a focus on safety to prevent slips and falls.
  • Dusts and cleans furniture, carpets, and draperies, ensuring all surfaces are maintained.
  • Washes walls, windows, and other surfaces to uphold facility standards.
  • Empties waste receptacles and manages waste disposal efficiently.
  • Disinfects various areas and items using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques.
  • Regularly checks and maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and linens.
  • Ensures all cleaning equipment is properly stored and maintained after use.
  • Follows safety guidelines and standard precautions, including proper handling of materials as per safety data sheets.
  • Prepares spaces for meetings and events, arranging furniture and decorations as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a cleaning role within a commercial or healthcare setting is advantageous.
  • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is necessary for effective communication.
  • Certifications in CPR and de-escalation may be required, with training provided upon hiring.
  • First aid certification may also be necessary based on state regulations.
