Welder

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Wastequip Manufacturing Co., LLC. As a Welder, you will play a critical role in supporting our Tyler, TX manufacturing operation.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a manufacturing environment and be proficient in MIG welding. You will be responsible for welding steel parts, examining welds for quality, and performing other duties as assigned.

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures on the bench or floor, or clamp parts together along layout marks
• Lay out, position, and tack weld work pieces
• Weld along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines
• Connect regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch, turn regulator valves to activate flow of gases, light torch, and adjust gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame
• Examine weld for bead size and other specifications
• Scar and groove welds and parts
• Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or splatter
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• Six months plus of related MIG welding experience and/or training preferred
• Able to MIG weld in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions, and decimals
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring tape
• Experienced in a fast-paced production environment preferred
• Able to pass all EHS required tests and clearances
