We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder, a leading logistics company. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance and component inspections.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer systems.
- Replace defective components and perform facility maintenance duties as required.
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions.
- Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation to track work and maintain records.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred.
- Basic tools required.
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
- Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and Ryder road test.
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
