Job Title: Deputy Bailiff

Join the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts team as a Deputy Bailiff, providing essential support to the court system and ensuring the safety and security of all individuals involved.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the court system, serving and executing court orders, and providing security services to the Hamilton County Courthouse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain security over inmates to/from/during court hearings and maintain courtroom security and decorum during proceedings.
  • Serve and execute court orders, including capiases, warrants, subpoenas, evictions, attachments, repossessions, and executions.
  • Investigate and take custody or issue citations of persons under the discretion of court-ordered warrants and orders of detention.
  • Provide fixed post and/or security at assigned areas to protect life and property of county personnel and citizens.
  • Enforce state statutes and perform high-visibility preventative security.
  • Respond to special security needs and duress alarms.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and minimum required liability insurance under State law.
  • RCIC certification; may be obtained within 1 year after employment.
  • Must have and maintain yearly firearm and Taser certification.
  • Commission certificate of completion of an O.P.O.T.A. approved peace officer training program.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Four years of experience in Ohio law enforcement or other similar position in other state, court system, or the United States military police.
