Position Summary: The Marine Pipe Installation Specialist is responsible for the assembly and upkeep of maritime piping systems, including steam, hydraulic, and oil lines. This role requires proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and executing installations in accordance with established specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine installation requirements.
- Prepare the work environment with necessary tools and materials, whether in a workshop or onboard.
- Utilize various techniques to cut, bend, weld, and connect pipes for effective shipboard installation.
- Conduct inspections and perform tests on piping systems to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned that are pertinent to the trade.
Preferred candidates will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of hands-on training in pipefitting or three years of relevant experience. A solid understanding of marine piping systems, blueprint interpretation, and safety protocols is essential. Candidates must be capable of working in diverse environments, including elevated areas and confined spaces, and must be able to follow detailed instructions.
Essential Skills:- Ability to read and comprehend technical documentation.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and machinery related to pipefitting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Compensation: $45 per hour
