Job Summary

Cable Wiring Specialist, Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Worker to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to construction and engineering services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a crew to perform general construction work, including physical labor, under the direction of a Foreman, Supervisor, or Project/Construction Manager.
  • Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
  • Perform tasks such as trenching, missile-bore, hand-hole placement, installation of fiber optic or Coax cable, restoration of areas, and inner duct/conduit and related restoration.
  • Locate buried wiring/cabling and install underground telecommunications cabling.
  • Flagging as needed to direct safe coordination of vehicles and equipment within general public areas where work sites are active.
  • Check work zones throughout the shift to ensure items are in their proper location and all safety devices are in place.
Requirements
  • Prior experience with underground utility construction is required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time at job sites and watch for road traffic and pedestrians to protect the public, equipment, and employees.
  • Ability to perform other work-related duties as assigned and comprehend and execute instructions as provided.
  • Ability to move and maneuver quickly to avoid danger.
  • Ability to work in varying outdoor environments throughout the year.
  • Must be able to follow directions, maintain work quality, and maintain safe working conditions/habits.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain positive working relationships at all levels, both internal and external to the company.
Education and Experience
  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • 1 year or more of experience in underground construction.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • The ability to comprehend prints is a plus.
  • A valid Driver's License is required to operate company vehicles, and a valid CDL is preferred.
  • Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check, including driving.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen test and meet federal DOT requirements.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the state as projects require, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
