Role Summary:
The Clinical Dietitian plays a vital role in the nutrition and dietetics sector, possessing expertise in human nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and menu planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and executes nutrition care plans, nutrition education, and medical nutrition therapy.
- Collaborates with food service teams and healthcare professionals to fulfill patients' dietary requirements.
- Implements quality enhancement initiatives for the dietary services.
- Creates, evaluates, and modifies therapeutic and specialized diets tailored to individual patient needs in collaboration with healthcare staff.
- Engages in patient care discussions as necessary.
- Contributes to the formulation of policies, procedures, and standards for the Nutritional Services department.
- Participates in diabetes education, bariatric programs, employee wellness initiatives, cardiac rehabilitation, and community health programs.
- Maintains professional qualifications and ensures proper documentation of credentials.
- Assumes management responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is mandatory; Master's degree is preferred.
- Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RD/RDN) and Illinois Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) credentials are required.
- Certification as a Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES) is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities are essential.
- Must be capable of meeting the physical demands associated with the role.
