We are seeking a dedicated and skilled RN Per Diem II to join our Pediatric and Adult ICU team at the University of New Mexico Hospitals. As an RN Per Diem II, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you can apply your knowledge and skills to provide exceptional patient care.

About the Role:

This position involves working within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients consistent with clinical specialty (PCU/ICU/ED etc.). You will collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.


Detailed Responsibilities:
  • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required.
  • Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information.
  • Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel.
  • Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and/or near misses in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • One year of directly related experience.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provision or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days.
  • RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Certification within one year.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within six months.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within six months of hire.
