Summary:
As a Vascular Technician, you will perform all aspects and modes of vascular laboratory testing, including arterial, venous, cerebrovascular, and visceral testing according to established procedures and protocols.
You will assess patients, obtain pertinent history, review orders to ensure correct and accurate testing is performed, and prepare preliminary reports of test results.
Responsibilities:
- Perform vascular laboratory testing according to department protocols
- Assess patients and obtain pertinent vascular history; utilize resources to obtain clinically necessary information
- Prepare accurate and complete preliminary reports; work independently without direct physician supervision
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers in relaying test results and determining specific testing required
- Maintain equipment and lab supplies appropriately
- Exhibit stewardship in the use of equipment and supplies
- Work according to the UPHS Mission Statement
- Perform testing for research studies according to protocols established by investigators
- Treat patients, family members, and other personnel with respect and dignity
- Maintain RVT credential
- Provide environment for patient care that ensures privacy and confidentiality
- Willingly assist other vascular specialists in performing tests or interpreting test results
- Perform duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
- Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Credentials:
ARDMS or RDMS or RVS or RVT (Required)
Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
Must maintain CPR certification
Education or Equivalent Experience:
H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
Graduate of accredited ultrasound technology program (Required)
1+ years Clinical experience in performing vascular lab testing (Required)
Must possess skills in performing Vascular Lab testing (Required)
