About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Ahold Delhaize USA. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, ensuring optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data transformations and data pipelines to support cross-functional teams
  • Validate QA test plans and support QA team during test execution
  • Ensure and sign off on change control and change management procedures are followed within the program/project as they relate to requirements
  • Design and develop BI datasets for reports and dashboards to support decision-making within business and IT
  • Document all phases of work, including gathering requirements, joining relationship diagrams, creating database diagrams, report layouts, and other program technical specifications
  • Conduct unit testing on ELT and report development
  • Conduct data lineage and impact analysis as a part of the change management process
  • Document reporting requirements through engagement with business process SMEs
  • Create and approve source to target data mappings for data pipelines and integration activities
  • Identify and resolve the impact of proposed application development/enhancement projects
  • Perform data profiling and process analysis to understand key source systems and assess scope and impact of business needs
  • Work closely with business teams in every stage from gathering requirements to closure of project
  • Implement and maintain data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance
  • Initiate and lead workstreams for improving way of working in teams, eliminating technical debt, and optimizing business processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Technical field and Master's Degree in Technology and/or Business related field; equivalent trainings/certifications/experience equivalency will be considered
  • 8 or more years of equivalent experience in relevant job or field of technology
  • 2 or more years of equivalent experience in an advanced role or technical capacity, leading teams directly or indirectly
  • 2 or more years experience directly responsible for guiding, training, or onboarding team members in relevant technologies, capabilities, or skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Postgraduate degree advanced training and/or certifications in relevant field/s of study preferred
  • 3 or more years experience in Agile teams and Product/Platform based operating model
  • 3 or more years of experience in leading teams or advancing technical capability in teams
  • Experience in retail or grocery preferred
