Volunteer Role Overview
We are currently seeking dedicated Hospice Companion Volunteers to join our expanding Hospice Division. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity that allows you to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Your Responsibilities
As a Hospice Companion Volunteer, you will:
- Engage with your patient by reading to them, sharing smiles, and listening to their life stories.
- Share the joy of music, favorite shows, or enjoy a card game together.
- If you prefer an administrative role, we have opportunities available at our Corporate Hospice office to assist with office support.
Flexibility and Support
This role offers flexibility, and we appreciate any time you can contribute. Our leadership team is available for consultation and support whenever needed. We encourage open communication, and as a volunteer, you will be valued and heard.
Volunteer Responsibilities
To become a Hospice Companion Volunteer, you will need to:
- Complete the official application and background check.
- Participate in an interview process.
- Attend initial volunteer training and orientation.
- Spend quality time with your assigned patient or assist with administrative tasks.
- Maintain regular communication with your Volunteer Coordinator.
- Document your activities in the EMR system.
Volunteer Requirements
To qualify for this role, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have reliable transportation, a valid state driver's license, and current car insurance.
- Exhibit kindness, compassion, reliability, and emotional composure.
