About the Role

Environmental Compliance Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technician to join our team in North Pole, Alaska. As a key member of our industrial operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of hazardous waste and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Handle Hazardous Materials: Inspect, handle, containerize, load/unload, and transport waste and materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Inspect containers and collection areas for compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Operate Industrial Equipment: Operate light and heavy vehicles and equipment, including trucks, fork lifts, plows, pumps, and other machinery.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of industrial systems, including pumps, pipes, and other equipment.
  • Spill Response and Remediation: Respond to and remediate spills and clean-up activities in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Sampling and Data Entry: Collect and analyze samples of water, waste, and soil to determine characteristics and contamination levels, and accurately record data in company databases.
  • Warehouse Operations: Assist with general warehouse operations, including labor, housekeeping, and inventory management.
  • Fluid Movement and Data Entry: Pump and move fluids and other materials, and accurately record data in company databases.
  • Safety and Customer Service: Prioritize safety above all else, and provide excellent customer service and client relations.
Requirements
  • Related Experience: Related experience preferred but not required.
  • HAZWOPER Certification: Possess or obtain a 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification (we will assist you in acquiring).
  • Background Checks and Drug Screening: Pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening, including marijuana.
  • Government Background Check: Ability to pass a government background check for military installation access.
  • Driver's License and CDL: Valid Driver's license with clean driving record; CDL highly desired.
  • Occupational and DOT Physicals: Ability to pass occupational and DOT physicals.
  • Respirator Use: Ability to wear a respirator.
  • Positive Attitude and Work Ethic: Have a positive attitude, integrity, and strong work ethic.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to meet physical demands of the job.
  • Computer Skills: General computer skills.
