The Zippertubing Company is a well-established manufacturing firm specializing in innovative insulation and acoustic solutions. We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Manufacturing Associate I / Machine Operator to contribute to our operations and develop alongside us.

The Manufacturing Associate I is tasked with executing production activities in accordance with established performance benchmarks. Collaborating effectively within a team, the Manufacturing Associate I will initiate, operate, monitor, and shut down various machinery while ensuring a safe and orderly workspace by adhering to protocols, guidelines, and regulations. Under the guidance of the level III Manufacturing Associate, Manufacturing Supervisor, or Manufacturing Manager, the Manufacturing Associate I will guarantee compliance with all specifications, document actions through production and quality records, and report any equipment malfunctions to supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, operate, monitor, and shut down a range of machinery to meet performance standards.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment by following established procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications and halt any non-conforming products.
  • Document actions by completing necessary production and quality forms.
  • Work towards established performance metrics.
  • Receive instructions from supervisors and the production manager.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Report any visible or audible equipment issues to supervisors.
  • Experience with ISO, LEAN, or other quality systems is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in a production environment, with a mechanical aptitude.
  • Entry-level machine operation experience is preferred, but training will be provided.
  • Basic computer skills are beneficial.

Work Schedule:

  • Part-Time
  • Tuesday - Thursday
  • 5:00 am – 3:30 pm (10-hour shifts)

Compensation:

  • Dependent on Experience (DOE)

Cognitive and Physical Demands:

The Manufacturing Associate I must possess the cognitive ability to follow instructions and routines, work independently with sound judgment, demonstrate spatial awareness, read and interpret information, concentrate, memorize, and recall, identify logical connections, and anticipate sequences of actions. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may encounter airborne particles, moving mechanical components, and vibrations. The noise level may be elevated at times. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, and reaching with hands and arms. The role involves repetitive tasks such as material insertion, alignment by hand, and manual rotation of fixtures. The employee must also be capable of safely lifting up to 49 pounds repeatedly during the shift.
