Adjunct Professor of Film Directing

Job Title: Adjunct Instructor, Directing
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced film director to join our faculty as an adjunct instructor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both fiction and non-fiction film directing, with a commitment to the democratization of filmmaking and a passion for teaching and mentoring students.
Responsibilities:
- Teach classes and production workshops in film directing, pre-production, sound, and screenwriting.
- Mentor students in the production of multiple films, providing guidance and feedback on their work.
- Develop and manage course syllabi, materials, and lesson plans.
- Establish a respectful and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and promotes collaboration and creative risk-taking.
- Encourage and facilitate discussion and constructive feedback among students and faculty.
- Contribute to departmental and institutional life, participating in faculty meetings, committees, and assessments.
Requirements:
- Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Film or a related field.
- Substantial experience directing both fiction and non-fiction film.
- Experience teaching film directing or related courses at the college level.
- Strong commitment to the democratization of filmmaking and a passion for teaching and mentoring students.
