Job Summary

Your role will involve providing direct patient care to individuals of all ages, from birth to geriatric, and documenting that care according to policy and procedure guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Direct Patient Care: Use critical thinking and judgment to deliver care that meets or exceeds departmental outcome standards.
  • Document Patient Care: Document patient care in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring medical necessity and compliance with departmental standards.
  • Manage Patient Records: Submit required paperwork for billing, accurate charges, and authorizations, demonstrating effective time management.
  • Develop Professional Skills: Demonstrate initiative in individual professional development, completing required education and promoting the profession within Monument Health and the community.
  • Supervise and Educate: Provide supervision according to state, federal, and professional association standards, and educate patients, families, and caregivers in treatment, goal setting, and discharge planning.
  • Comply with Regulations: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including insurance, accrediting bodies, national, and state regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Speech Pathology
  • Certification: SD Speech Language Pathology License, Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Hearing Association (ASHA), or Clinical Fellowship Year to obtain Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Experience: 1+ years of rehabilitation experience
  • Certification: Speech Therapist (ST) Certification from the American Speech-Hearing Association (ASHA)
Physical Requirements

Heavy work, exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths, including 8 and 12 hours, which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
