Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Staff PT to join our team at the YMCA of Southwest Florida. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on our buildings, mechanical equipment, and other property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform minor and major repairs of all buildings and equipment, including replacing broken windows, repairing doors and door locks, and installing window blinds.
  • Install and repair plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks, and urinals, and install electrical wiring and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required and assist with the renovation and remodeling of buildings.
  • Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements, including cleaning protocols, and inspecting and performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance to HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Conduct routine grounds and building inspections and initiate repairs as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 2-3 years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Good skill in the use of hand and power tools and working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, read and comprehend simple instructions, and write simple correspondence.
  • Successfully complete State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements and meet the Association's policies on background screening.
Certifications and Training
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications required, as well as annual completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens Training and YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class.
  • Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols and additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor.
