Our client, Celerity Staffing Solutions, is seeking a Materials Lab Testing Technician for a TEMP TO HIRE opportunity.

The Materials Lab Testing Technician role focuses on product evaluation within the construction sector. This position is tasked with delivering technical assistance to engineering teams, which includes responsibilities related to routine assessments, equipment upkeep, and workspace organization. The technician will operate under direct supervision.

  • Work Schedule: Weekdays from 7:30 AM to 4 PM in a climate-controlled setting
  • Compensation: Starting at $21+/hour, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up testing apparatus and fixtures
  • Operating laboratory testing equipment
  • Maintaining laboratory tools and facilities
  • Preparing samples for testing
  • Collecting and documenting test data in line with established standards
  • Conducting preliminary analysis of test results and performing routine calculations
  • Drafting detailed technical reports
  • Extracting and compiling engineering data
  • Organizing project files to ensure compliance with operational protocols
  • Visually inspecting samples for variations in material properties and appearance
  • Providing recommendations on technical matters related to test standards interpretation
  • Engaging with clients and management effectively

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or completion of a technical program in material science or a related field is preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in using basic shop equipment and various tools (including hand and power tools, cutting saws such as band, table, and circular saws)
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and communicate technical information effectively
  • Strong project management skills and client communication abilities
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Visual acuity for reading fine details while observing changes in characteristics (Color and Texture)
  • Physical dexterity for executing precise tasks with delicate materials and equipment
  • Physical capacity to routinely lift at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, push, pull, etc., as required for job functions
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Additional Requirements: Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
