Role Summary

As a Surgical Technologist at UNC Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and success of surgical procedures. Your expertise in sterile and aseptic technique, combined with your knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures, will enable you to provide optimal support to our surgical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a sterile field, ensuring a safe environment for patients and surgical teams.
  • Assist in the planning and setup of instruments, supplies, and surgical drapes, ensuring optimal accessibility during procedures.
  • Participate in data collection for research projects under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • Operate complex equipment and troubleshoot as necessary.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing Program.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) certification.
