We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Charge Nurse OR to join our team at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality patient care and coordination of all functions in the operating room during your designated shift.
As a Charge Nurse OR, you will collaborate with other members of the management team to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service. You will also be responsible for assisting with admission and discharge processes, participating in the ongoing assessment of patient care services, and supporting a patient-first philosophy.
Responsibilities- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the operating room.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
- Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- 2 Years Associate Degree/Diploma.
- Bachelor Degree preferred.
- 1-3 years experience in Charge Position Role.
HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is a 417-bed acute care facility located in west Miami-Dade County. Our services include trauma, burn, surgical, women's and children's services, behavioral health, and diagnostic services. We have two full-service free-standing ER facilities and are a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center certified by the Florida Department of Health. We are verified as a Level I Adult Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons and certified by the Joint Commission as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center. We are one of five American Burn Association's verified Burn Centers in the state.
