Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Cleveland Clinic. As a RN Neuro Specialist, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care to critically ill patients with neurological conditions, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of care and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients with neurological conditions, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Monitor and document patient condition, including vital signs, laboratory results, and other relevant data, to inform care decisions and ensure patient safety.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure that patients receive timely and accurate information about their care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to promote best practices in patient care.
Requirements
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio.
  • Minimum one year of experience as a RN in a hospital setting, preferably in a neurological ICU or critical care unit.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA, if working in a critical care unit.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

The RN Neuro Specialist will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to high-stress situations and critical patient care decisions. The ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, and to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, is essential for success in this role.
