Job Description

The MEP Project Manager Lead will be responsible for providing overall direction and leadership on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) dominant projects or for MEP scopes of work on medium to large projects.

The successful candidate will have a proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for complex projects, detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks, and possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall financial health of projects including developing and maintaining project financial projections, determining and allocating project estimates into financial system, determining cost codes, approving invoices, and making necessary budget management decisions.
  • Oversee subcontracts and suppliers for the project including overseeing budget for and making selections of trade partners and suppliers, handling billings and contract management, including contract buyouts, overseeing the 3-D coordination process to resolve all conflicts prior to installation, directing and managing the commissioning process on the project inclusive of the startup plan, COT, commissioning schedule, and functional testing, and leading all activities required in the project closeout inclusive of operations and maintenance manuals, model turn over, and training.
  • Manage Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s) by providing job assignments and managing career development, approving timecards for on-site team members, and providing ongoing feedback of work performance.
  • Function as the main point of contact with the owner and on-site representative by assisting with the review of the owner agreement, resolving site concerns for the owner or representative, and providing frequent interactions and service to build positive relationships and future work opportunities.
  • Manage change orders by determining when to submit to the owner or on-site representatives and obtaining the customer/architect's approval.
