Job Summary

This role is part of the production and/or warehouse team at Fosdick Fulfillment, working in various capacities such as packer, online returns processor, sorter, manifest operator, or order selector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for this position, including arriving on time at the start of each shift and after rest and meal periods.
  • Pick and/or pack merchandise into cartons or shipping bags, accurately completing designated paperwork and/or inserts, and securing labels and/or order sets onto parcels.
  • Stack and secure packages to pallets or in large boxes in an orderly fashion.
  • Assemble orders, product sets, and/or kits.
  • Process returns by opening packages, removing invoice/return forms, and merchandise, and scanning or keying client order numbers or names, verifying customer names, addresses, and order numbers.
  • Input reasons for returns using parcel markings, customer notes, and/or comments, and use independent judgment to determine quality ratings.
  • Inspect returned merchandise for quality, determining 1st, 2nd, and damaged quality, and sort returned merchandise by client and/or product SKU # and place product in designated locations.
  • Return 1st quality merchandise back into inventory, follow client requests for 2nd quality and damaged merchandise, and may require working knowledge of the manifest system and specific functions needed to complete the job.
  • Manifest orders by checking manifest scales to ensure they are set at 0.0 before each package, reviewing requests and work orders for specific shipping details or changes, and scanning barcodes, keying all pertinent information into computers if scanners fail to read barcodes.
  • Assist in sorting product by ship method and stack on pallets or place in shrouds, and assist with physical inventories as needed.
  • Achieve rates set forth by managers, supervisors, or leads, and assist with training temporary employees as necessary.
  • May act as a subject matter expert or trainer for small cells of employees during peak periods, comply with safety rules and regulations, and maintain clean work areas in accordance with company standards.
Requirements
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • The ability to read and understand label placement on retail shipments.
  • The ability to read and comprehend all necessary work transactions, including customer return notes if necessary.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with leads, supervisors, and coworkers.
  • The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Basic computer skills.
Work Environment

The work is conducted in typical warehouse surroundings, with some moderately uncomfortable elements such as heat, cold, and dust. The work environment is fast-paced, with pressures of meeting delivery commitments and responding to changing priorities.
