About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and friendly Meat and Seafood Clerk to join our team at Tops Friendly Markets. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring the proper handling and storage of meat and seafood products, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service, responding to customer inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Weigh, wrap, price, prepare, and label meat or seafood products to ensure accurate and efficient sales.
- Ensure proper handling and storing of product, maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
- Maintain proper case conditions, including cleaning, stocking, straightening, and rotating product to ensure maximum visibility and sales.
- Fulfill customer requests for meat/seafood products and answer customer questions in a knowledgeable and courteous manner.
- Ensure proper operation of and temperatures in cooler, prep area, freezer, lobster tanks, and cases to maintain a safe and healthy environment for customers and employees.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
