Job Summary:
The National Coalition of Healthcare Recruiters is seeking a highly skilled Anesthesiologist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for administering anesthetics to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Anesthetic Administration: Assess patients to determine the degree of surgical risk and the type of anesthetic and sedation required, and administer anesthetics to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures.
- Monitoring and Record-Keeping: Record type and amount of anesthetic and sedation administered, as well as monitor patient condition before, during, and after the procedure.
- Post-Operative Care: Provide post-operative care, including monitoring patients through the initial recovery stage and administering necessary medications.
- Pain Management: Assist in pain management for patients suffering from chronic pain, including respiratory and neurological illnesses.
- Education and Training: Instruct medical students and other personnel in anesthetic administration techniques, recognizing signs of reactions and complications, and emergency measures.
- Leadership and Coordination: Coordinate and direct the work of nurses, medical technicians, and other healthcare providers, and provide and maintain life support and airway management during emergencies.
- Scheduling and Maintenance: Schedule and maintain the use of surgical suites and equipment.
- Research and Development: Conduct medical research to contribute to disease control, medication development, and new medical techniques.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, both in person and over the telephone.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification: Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology.
- Medical License: Valid state medical license.
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, strong organizational and time management skills, commitment to providing high-quality patient care, and demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
