Join BluePearl as an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician

We are seeking an exceptional Anesthesia Veterinary Technician to join our Radiation Oncology Department in Malvern, PA. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

About the Role

As an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Understanding the different types of radiation energies/modalities and appropriate uses for each
  • Performing basic RT patient set-ups under the supervision of doctors and higher-level technicians
  • Administering appropriate radiation doses to patients under the supervision of higher-level technicians
  • Discharge Oncology patients from the hospital, including basic client education
  • Admitting Oncology patients and obtaining through history including current medications and dosages, response to treatment and side effects, intensity and duration
  • Applying critical thinking skills, understanding and notifying doctors appropriately when working with laboratory results
  • Understanding pharmacodynamics & pharmacokinetics of commonly used medications
  • Placing peripheral over-the-needle catheter in all peripheral vessels
  • Recognizing abnormal heart and lung sounds
  • Accurately calculating all medical math including advanced and CRIs
  • Recognizing patients at risk for arrest and initiating CPR according to R.E.C.O.V.E.R guidelines
  • Inducing, monitoring and recovering anesthesia
  • Maintaining and caring for anesthesia equipment
