Role Summary
As a vital member of the surgical team, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your role is crucial in ensuring a sterile environment and providing support to surgeons during operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist in the safe transport of patients to and from the operating room.
- Maintain accurate counts of instruments and supplies throughout surgical procedures.
- Provide instruments and materials to surgeons as needed during operations.
- Monitor and uphold aseptic techniques, addressing any breaches immediately.
- Assist in the handling of surgical specimens and completion of necessary documentation.
- Ensure proper disposal of used materials and decontamination of equipment post-surgery.
- Prepare the operating room for subsequent procedures by ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Support patient discharge processes and coordinate transportation needs.
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and report any needs for replenishment.
- Track and report maintenance requirements for surgical instruments and equipment.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess prior experience as a surgical technician. Current certification as an Operating Room Technician is preferred.
