We are currently seeking an Information Security Engineer to support critical operations within the Army National Guard (ARNG). This role is part of an IT Service Management contract aimed at enhancing the ARNG's global Information Technology (IT) services, which encompass networking, computing, storage, infrastructure, applications, hosting, and program management services.

The GECOS program plays a vital role in supporting the ARNG's enterprise IT infrastructure, including its Wide Area Network (WAN), authentication and directory services, cybersecurity measures, application hosting, and related services. Utilizing the ITIL framework, we are committed to delivering high-quality IT services to the ARNG.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Information Security Engineer, you will:

  • Provide expert technical guidance to design, plan, and develop documentation for the deployment of cybersecurity operations tools such as SIEM and log management systems.
  • Train and mentor mid and junior engineers, as well as cross-functional teams, in the effective use of cyber operations tools.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in IT architecture and information systems compliance, including RMF Special publications, system controls, enhancements, assessment procedures, implementation plans, and system security plans (SSP).
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to meet contract requirements.

Qualifications for Success:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience (alternative combinations of experience, education, and certifications may be considered).
  • An active Secret security clearance.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II (Security + or equivalent) certification.
  • 6+ years of experience in Red Hat Linux engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in Windows Server engineering.
  • Proven ability to apply DISA STIGs and utilize SCAP/SCC scanning tools.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, preferably Splunk (2 years) and Elastic Search and Stack (logstash, filebeat, winlogbeat, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ESXi.

Desired Skills:

Additional skills that would be beneficial include:

  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, and BASH scripting.
  • Familiarity with Apache Kafka/Confluent.
  • Understanding of TLS and SSL Certificates.

Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $123,250 - $166,750, which may vary based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
