About the Role

Corteva Agriscience is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team in Algona, Iowa. As an Electrician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities and equipment.


Key Responsibilities

As an Electrician, your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Ensuring the operation of company equipment, including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control devices, and HVAC systems
  • Performing electrical repairs and scheduled inspections of equipment, following prescribed guidelines and procedures
  • Reviewing and leading electrical safety programs for the plant maintenance team
  • Servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical problems
  • Adhering to quality systems and safety procedures, including Environmental regulations, OSHA, and PSM procedures
  • Making recommendations for improved safety through electrical programs and process changes
  • Serving as a safety program leader
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:


  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • 2-3 years of industrial electrician/maintenance experience
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Valid US Driver's License
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:


  • Associate or Two-Year Trade School Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology
  • Journeymen license
  • Experience with work order and part inventory systems
  • Knowledge of Automation and Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
  • Previous industrial maintenance experience with production equipment
