Your Role:
The Systems Engineering division at Teledyne Controls is seeking a proactive professional with a robust background in collaborating with diverse teams throughout the hardware and software development lifecycle, from initial concept to operational deployment. Your responsibilities will encompass system architecture, product specifications, trade studies, analysis, integration, verification and validation (V&V), and ongoing support activities. You will also engage in innovative research and development projects while providing support for our established product offerings in wireless data transmission, data collection, and networked systems within commercial aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire comprehensive knowledge of complex systems to execute technical tasks across the system's lifecycle, which may involve hands-on work with hardware, scripting, or developing automated testing protocols.
- Assume Technical Lead responsibilities for small to medium-scale product developments, including conducting engineering trade studies and design evaluations.
- Create and refine Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) architecture models.
- Design and validate system components in accordance with operational requirements.
- Conduct integration and troubleshooting of prototype hardware and software.
- Perform root cause analysis for OEM/customer issues encountered in the field.
- Develop and implement system testing procedures to ensure hardware and software performance.
- Draft and support the creation of automated testing scripts and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and documentation of technical and process-related materials.
- Facilitate the transition of hardware and software products from development to production, ensuring smooth entry into service and addressing OEM/customer field challenges.
- Collaborate with the Program Office to establish product development timelines and budget estimates.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a related discipline.
- Proficiency in automated testing scripting using Python is essential.
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, are preferred.
- Experience with Wi-Fi or Cellular technologies is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is preferred.
- Prior experience in avionics is a plus.
