We are seeking an experienced Air Freight Operations Manager to join our team at DPDHL. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate movement of shipments, documentation, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Air Freight Processes: Direct and control activities to effectively manage end-to-end Air Freight processes, ensuring timely and accurate movement of shipments.
  • Drive Profitability: Responsible for Air Freight product profitability, including continuous improvement processes to increase efficiencies, reduce waste, and improve performance to our customers.
  • Manage Ground Costs: Manage and control all ground cost margins and prepare monthly activity/revenue reports.
  • Lead Vendors: Lead all related vendors to ensure the highest level of service is achieved, and assist and answer customer inquiries and other related customer service functions.
  • Ensure Accuracy: Responsible for the accuracy of invoices, bills of lading, shipping statements, and the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Supervise Staff: Supervise staff, responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing staff, maintaining employee records, and completing yearly employee performance reviews.
  • Escalation Contact: Serve as escalation contact for customers' Air shipments, responsible for the financial aspects and results.
  • Collaborate with Internal Customers: Collaborate with internal customers (Brokerage, Gateway, Trucking, Seattle Station, and Handling, etc.) for seamless customer service and improve process flows.
  • Review and Manage Reports: Review and manage month-end reports, review P/L, open Accounts Payables Accounts Receivables, and escalate carrier performance issues when required with the Product team and airline carrier contacts as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education: BA/BS preferred or minimum of 6 years supervisory experience within the logistics/transportation industry.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations).
  • Industry Expertise: Extensive expertise and knowledge of the logistics/supply chain industry (especially Air Freight).
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills: Microsoft (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook).
  • Leadership Ability: Demonstrated leadership ability to include driving KPIs, employee engagement/team building, and strong ability to develop, coach, train, and mentor staff to success.
