Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Lead HVAC Mechanic and Shift Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for adjusting, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Gaming policies and procedures.
  • Perform adjustments, repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain accurate log books.
  • Carry out inspections; replace belts, filters, adjust dampers, check gauges, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Assist in estimating required parts, supplies, and labor hours for repairs.
  • Ensure optimal air quality, airflow, and temperature across facilities; adjust valves for lubrication oil and water flow.
  • Document gauge readings, repairs completed, and downtime due to equipment failures.
  • Maintain technical logs and record all relevant data as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A High School diploma or technical certificate is required, along with a minimum of three (3) years of experience with commercial industrial equipment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Florida state EPA HVAC License is also required, along with basic mechanical aptitude. Candidates must be able to read and interpret schematics, plans, diagrams, and drawings.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in high or precarious places and be near fiberglass insulation and electrical current.
  • Exposure to environmental factors typical of a casino setting, including secondhand smoke and elevated noise levels.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds are required. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • The work environment is fast-paced, often crowded, and noisy, with constant interaction with the public.
