Job Summary

Supports mechanical engineers with industrial mechanical equipment operations, prepares drafted drawings and specifications, and records data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting mechanical engineers in the design, development, and testing of industrial machinery, consumer products, manufacturing tools, and other equipment.
  • Assisting in the installation and on-going troubleshooting and maintenance of machinery used to manufacture other products as well as operating that machinery.
  • Preparing mechanical models, rough layouts, detailed drawings, and specifications; analyzing, calculating, estimating, and recording associated data such as costs, tolerances, detailed characteristics, and other specifications.
  • Checking dimensions of materials to be used and assigning numbers to the material.
  • Laying out and drawing schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in drafting, design, or engineering-related field.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to frequent priority shifts of changing business demand.
