About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering to join our team at Mastercard. As a key member of our Engineering organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our cloud infrastructure and operations strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud infrastructure and operations strategy that aligns with the company's overall objectives.
  • Lead a global team of infrastructure and cloud operation engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their success.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement a global cloud infrastructure and operations strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead the development and implementation of holistic platform security posture, including identifying security risks and implementing risk mitigation plans and control functions.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for infrastructure operations, including monitoring, automation, and disaster recovery.
  • Evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance our infrastructure capabilities.
  • Oversee the financial aspect of cloud infrastructure and implement FinOps strategies.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to infrastructure and cloud services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in enterprise SaaS platforms, infrastructure engineering, or cloud operations technical leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud security and networking, compliance, data privacy, and implementing ITSM processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure via infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience in implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of building high-performance teams.

This is a hybrid position based in Mastercard's Boston, Massachusetts, Arlington, Virginia, or O'Fallon, Missouri locations.
