**Job Title:** Psychiatric Hospitalist

About the Position:

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Hospitalist to join our team at American Health Partners. As a Psychiatric Hospitalist, you will be responsible for providing medical care to patients with acute psychiatric illnesses. This includes evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient care for each patient on admission and on an ongoing basis in accordance with accepted medical practice
  • Develop and maintain current treatment plans for each patient
  • Makes all patient care assignments
  • Reviews staffing schedules and meets patient care need to make adjustment for nursing staff absenteeism
  • Administer medications and perform medical procedures as authorized by state laws
  • Provide patient and family education regarding medical treatment, benefits, side effects, disease prevention and basic living skills
  • Complete comprehensive medical assessments, treatment, and tests
  • Complete psychiatric metric measures
  • Provide pharmaceutical services within scope of license and education
  • Demonstrate development of discharge plans/reassessment of plans that are made before discharge and arrangements for appropriate post-hospital care that avoid unnecessary delays in discharge
  • Provide emergency care within safe and appropriate times

Requirements:

  • Board certification in psychiatry or related field
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience in psychiatry or related field
  • Graduate from an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
  • Current State Medical License
  • Current CPR Certification

Salary Estimate: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience
