We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Autism Education Specialist to join our team. As an Autism Education Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality education services to students with autism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes academic and social growth for students with autism.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless transitions and effective communication among team members.
  • Provide guidance and support to assigned program aides or assistant teachers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Adapt curriculum programs to meet the diverse needs of students with autism.
  • Implement behavior management systems to promote positive behavior and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives that support student success.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with students with autism.
  • Teaching certificate from the Maryland State Department of Education (Middle to High School).
