Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Florida Department of Children and Families. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients and inmates in our correctional and forensic facilities.

• Verify medication orders and ensure accurate dispensing
• Conduct inventory and maintain accurate records of medication and supplies
• Participate in monitoring programs to remove deteriorated pharmaceuticals and manufacturer drug recalls
• Assist pharmacists in dispensing medication orders and labeling preparations
• Perform mechanical, technical, and administrative tasks under the supervision of a pharmacist

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the State of Florida Board of Pharmacy
• High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of a vocational, military, or community college pharmacy technician program or licensed practical nursing program
• One year of experience as a pharmacy technician or two years of experience in providing nursing or direct patient care service in a medical setting
