Cardiac Catheterization Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Tech to join our team at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. As a Cardiac Cath Tech, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Radiology/Imaging Services department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review patient history and physician's orders to ensure accurate and timely care.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
- Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
- Prepare equipment and supplies, and select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures, analyzing results and identifying issues with image quality.
- Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
- Enter, transmit, and report scan results, and communicate continuously with the multidisciplinary team about patient condition.
- Assist physicians during invasive and noninvasive procedures, and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Required Licenses: Radiologic Technologist and Technician, Licensed by the State of KY as a radiation operator, Registered by ARRT as a radiologic technologist.
- Required Skills: Maintains certification of CI and/or RCIS required, Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of employment, Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification (or) obtained within 6 months after hire date.
