Job Summary

As a Grounds Maintenance Worker at Southeastern University, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical grounds of the university in a clean and aesthetically appealing manner. This includes performing physical work on all grounds projects, daily operations, and any other grounds needs that require physical labor and manual lifting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the maintenance of physical grounds, including daily operations and special projects.
  • Works with outside contractors to ensure the grounds are maintained to a high standard.
  • Lifts and moves supplies, equipment, and material, as needed, up to 100 pounds.
  • Operates light machinery with moving parts, chemicals, dust, and outside weather conditions.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Standard home/lawn and garden experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of general management, safe work practices, and health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting.

Training Time

  • Two weeks to perform all job-related duties with minimal supervision.
