We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Convenient Care team on a per diem basis. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Job SummaryThe LPN will provide primary clinical support to the provider, patient, and their family to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient's condition. This includes obtaining and documenting patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and providing basic medical data for the provider. The LPN will also assist the provider in the performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations, as well as collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork.
Responsibilities- Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provide basic medical data for the provider.
- Assist the provider in the performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork.
- Administer medications and vaccines, including intradermal and skin testing, under the direction of a provider and per scope of practice.
- Clean and set up examination and treatment rooms between cases, ensuring required levels of asepsis, availability of appropriate instruments and equipment, and preparation of patient.
Geisinger Convenient Care is a walk-in clinic that provides quick, convenient healthcare when patients need it. Our clinics provide services for family healthcare needs, including physicals, immunizations, and treatment for common illnesses. We treat minor health issues that can be resolved in a single visit, including cold and flu symptoms, allergies, earaches, urinary infections, tick removal, sprains, strains, and minor cuts. Care is available to anyone age 1 and older. Our clinics are open 7 days a week.
Requirements- Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year-Nursing experience
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Licensed Practical Nurse certification
