Job Summary:

The Cardiac Monitor Specialist is responsible for the on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and providing RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms.

This role involves delivering telemetry to in-patient units, performing monitor connection/discharge, patient preparation, and teaching related to the monitor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patient cardiac rhythms and notify RNs and/or clinicians of any changes.
  • Deliver telemetry to in-patient units and perform monitor connection/discharge.
  • Prepare patients for monitor use and provide teaching related to the monitor.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
  • Telemetry and/or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia course preferred.
