Grossing Technician

As a key member of our Pathology Laboratory team, the Grossing Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate examination and processing of noncomplex surgical tissue specimens for histologic examination.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform high complexity testing and all duties associated with the gross examination of noncomplex surgical tissue specimens.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate specimen processing.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless specimen processing and reporting.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, or equivalent education/training.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a Pathology Laboratory, or 1 year of secretarial/administrative assistant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to type 60 wpm.
  • Familiarity with computers and word processing software applications.
