The Department of Ophthalmology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is seeking a Physician to continue our outstanding patient care. Appointments may be available at the level of Clinical Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or full Professor, depending on experience.

Position Summary
Responsible for providing and managing direct medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, and care for patients within a recognized area of practice or for a specified patient population.
Essential Functions
- Conducts and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
- Prescribes medications and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
- Refers patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as necessary.
- Trains and supervises medical students and residents involved in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.
- May oversee the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
- Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, as well as continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Participates in specified health promotion, education, and prevention programs as appropriate to the position.
- Maintains department productivity thresholds.
- Ensures faculty status in good standing with the CWRU SOM (if applicable).
- Complies with core physician obligations as outlined in the Physician Policy Manual.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Must possess and maintain a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio.
- Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must adhere to all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
