Position Overview:

Tetra Tech is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Senior Civil/Water Resources Engineer. This position is ideal for someone eager to engage in a variety of stimulating projects within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Principal and Project Engineers, Scientists, and Project Managers on diverse hydrology and hydraulic initiatives. A hybrid work arrangement is available, with the requirement to reside within a specified distance from the local office.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design development for stream, floodplain, and large-scale hydrology and hydraulics projects.
  • Support engineering design for stream and floodplain hazardous waste remediation efforts.
  • Develop water routing and management plans, grading plans, site plans, and other civil engineering designs.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including stormwater conveyance and retention/detention design, stage-storage and water balance modeling, open channel flow, erosion, and sediment transport.
  • Prepare environmental compliance documentation.
  • Draft reports and technical memoranda.
  • Generate engineering cost estimates.
  • Create bid specifications and contract documents.
  • Oversee construction activities.
  • Compile, review, and evaluate environmental data, along with conducting site reconnaissance.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for construction oversight, environmental sampling, and site reconnaissance as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Over 10 years of engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is mandatory.
  • Experience in civil/water resources engineering, including civil design, stream and floodplain restoration, infrastructure design, stormwater management, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, cost estimation, and environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with civil grading and drainage, hydrologic modeling, and hydraulic analysis.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, with the ability to quickly learn Civil 3D, HEC programs, and other standard software.
  • Experience with software such as ArcGIS and GOLDSIM is highly desirable.
  • Ability to conduct field data collection and manage construction projects.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft software, including MS Excel for data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize scientific data effectively.
  • MSHA and/or OSHA HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
