Wine Specialist Job Description

At Bristol Farms, we're seeking a highly skilled Wine Specialist to join our team. As a Wine Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and fostering a deep knowledge of wines, beer, and spirits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers with wine, beer, and spirit selection, offering recommendations, and ensuring a memorable shopping experience.
  • Demonstrate a high level of expertise and knowledge in wines, including varietals, regions, production methods, and food pairings.
  • Stay on top of industry trends, new releases, and emerging wine regions to provide up-to-date recommendations to customers.
  • Actively contribute to the creation and development of the weekly newsletter, providing engaging content and highlighting featured wines, beers, and spirits.
  • Maintain department standards by organizing and properly displaying products, ensuring accurate pricing and signage, and monitoring inventory levels.
  • Assist in conducting tastings and educational events for customers, including classes and seminars.
  • Act as a liaison between vendors and the Wine Manager, coordinating product orders, resolving any issues or discrepancies, and providing feedback on customer preferences.
  • Provide support to the Wine Manager in managing inventory, including receiving and stocking products, rotating stock, and conducting regular inventory counts.
  • Keep abreast of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to alcohol sales, ensuring compliance at all times.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Candidates must be 21 years of age or older.
