Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Jury Movement: Assist in the coordination of prospective jurors through the jury selection process, and the jury throughout the trial and deliberation, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
  • Support Juror Needs: Attend to the special needs and comforts of jurors throughout the trial process, providing a high level of customer service and ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Communicate with the Court: Support communication between the Court and the jury once the trial is underway, facilitating a smooth and effective exchange of information.
  • Monitor Trial Environment: Communicate to the Court any observed or reported violations or suspicious behaviors in a timely and discreet manner, maintaining the integrity of the trial process.

Examples of Duties:

  • Assist with Juror Check-in: Collaborate with Court Administration to ensure a smooth and efficient juror check-in process.
  • Provide Jury Support: Provide notepads and pens to the jury panel and collect them once the jury trial has ended, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
  • Ensure Jury Security: Ensure that jury space for breaks, lunch, and deliberation are secure from outside influence, maintaining the integrity of the trial process.
  • Lead Jurors to the Courtroom: Lead jurors from the jury assembly area to the courtroom, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.
  • Deliver Jury Questions: Deliver written questions from the jury to the Judge or court staff and wait for instructions, facilitating a smooth and effective exchange of information.
  • Notify the Judge: Inform the Judge when a verdict is reached, ensuring a timely and efficient conclusion to the trial.

Working Hours:

This position is a variable hour as needed, requiring flexibility and adaptability. Hours are not guaranteed, but the successful candidate will be willing to work with other employer schedules.

Compensation:

The successful candidate will be compensated at a rate of $19.50 per hour, providing a competitive salary for this critical role.
